For the second year running, The Butchershop Bar & Grill were ready and waiting to support the awesome Glasgow Taxi Outing Fund. Firm believers that you should never set off on a trip with an empty stomach, The Butchershop team prepared 300 breakfast rolls to ensure that none of the drivers, children, parents or carers were starvin’ by the time they got to Troon.

Glasgow Taxis have been putting smiles on children’s faces since 1945, by annually sending Taxis To Troon to provide an unforgettable day out, with 2017 marking the 72nd instalment of the event!

Lead by RUSK & RUSK co-owners James and Louise Rusk, Team Butchershop handed out bacon, sausage and tattie scone rolls to the hundreds of attendees along Kelvin Way! Our awesome suppliers at Cairnhill farms donated the sausage and bacon for the event, which was much appreciated by everyone from the kids to the drivers themselves. The team strived to get the rolls to as many people as possible, even if that meant throwing them to the top of one of the buses!

Setting off from just across the road, Glasgow Taxis organise this tremendous event every year to the delight of the city. The spectacle of the decorated taxis and the dressed-up drivers truly is a sight to behold, and The Butchershop feels proud to be part of the ongoing tradition. We love to be involved and are hopeful that the gesture made the day that extra bit awesome for everyone.

The commitment and enthusiasm of all who participate really makes this event unmissable, and we will be a part of it for as long as it continues!
