Movember Closing Party

Calling all Mo Bros and Mo Sistas!! You and your ‘tache (real, plastic, furry or drawn on) are cordially invited to our Movember Closing Party on Wednesday, 28 November at 7pm where all proceeds will be going to Movember and CLIC Sargent (you can read a little more about why we are donating to these charities in our previous Movember post).

Prizes will be on offer for a variety of ‘tache accolades including Miss and Mr Movember, best and worst ‘tache and a whole lot more.

PLEASE NOTE: THE PRICE IS NOW PAY WHAT YOU FEEL IT’S WORTH (MIN DONATION £15 PP) DUE TO THE GREAT SUPPORT OF OUR SUPPLIERS AND CUSTOMERS. ALL PROCEEDS GOING TO CHARITY!!

This night will mark a month of ‘tache-tingling growing by the staff, fundraising efforts and most of all our drive for awareness of prostate and testicular cancer. As you know our long term staff member Jehad Hatu, was diagnosed at the beginning of the year with stage 3 testicular cancer and our fundraising efforts are going towards the people that have helped him. We’d love it if you could join us for what is going to be one heck of a rockability party whilst helping to change lives.

Movember Food Evening and Closing Party:

The night will begin with foie gras cromesquis canapes and a Belvedere cocktail on arrival to tickle your moustaches!

Then you will enjoy an appetiser of hot smoked salmon rillette with avocado and radish salad, followed by white balsamic marinated sliced rump of Scottish beef with sweet potato fritters, grilled figs and creamed spinach with a red wine jus.

Dessert is chocolate tart, salted caramel, honeycomb, Amaretto and Chantilly cream – divine! XFM DJ Paul N’Jie will then be keeping the music flowing, prize giving and Movember swag!

View our full Movember Closing Party menu here. Book your place by calling of the Butchershop team on 0141 339 2999. If you can’t make it but would like to donate please visit The Butchershop Meatballs on Movember. Thanks for all your support!

Braised pigs’ cheek with seared West Coast scallops

One of our favourite January dishes is our braised pigs’ cheek with seared West Coast scallops and pigs’ trotter stuffed with Stornoway black pudding on a bed of cauliflower purée.

The pairing of the tender and richness of the pork is complemented beautifully with the light and sweet texture of the scallops. It’s a dish which we first served at our Hogmanay Feast of Meats celebration evening and have since been asked by you, our customers to serve again.

We would also recommend a glass of the dry and well-balanced Hungarian Furmint Royal Tokaji white wine which leaves hints of spicy oak and lemon flavours on the palate and is the perfect partner for this dish.
