At The Butchershop Bar & Grill we work hard with all of our suppliers to ensure the quality, provenance and traceability of all the ingredients we use.
Beef and Lamb
We’re members of the Scotch Beef Club and only serve the finest dry-aged Scotch beef and lamb. Our butchers are John Gilmours and Cairnhill Farm – four-generation farmers in Ayrshire, who provide us with grass fed, dry-aged beef from Limousin and Black Angus cattle. For our signature cuts we have our own dry-aging room at Cairnhill Farm where our beef is hung up to a period of 45 days ensuring a consistently high-end product.
McCallums of Troon is our wonderful seafood and shellfish supplier, hand-picking and delivering the freshest catch from the west coast of Scotland and fish markets in Shetland, landed from boats fishing in the North Sea and Atlantic Ocean. They also provide us with free range poultry.
Our Scottish cheeses are delivered from Glasgow cheesemonger, George Mewes. Where possible our fruit, vegetables, dairy and eggs are from Scotland and supplied by Direct Foods who source the freshest in-season produce.
Coffee is fairtrade from Italian Roma in Glasgow, while our tea selection is from Edinburgh-based Eteaket. Ice-cream is supplied from award-winning manufacturers Chocolate Box in Lanark.

Three course charity dinner on Monday 1st December hosted by our effervescent owner, James Rusk who be in charge of the raffle and the likes of the esteemed accolade of Best Mo. The evening is ‘Pay What You Think It’s Worth’ with a minimum donation of £20 pp. Proceeds from the evening will be going to the very deserving Movember.

Tonight’s the first of two sell-out nights at the Hydro. Backed by a ten-piece band the Paisley-born star will play a bumper set with play songs from his Number One album “Caustic Love” as well as a few well-known crowd-pleasers from his earlier records.

One in five children and young people in Scotland live in poverty in Scotland, affecting around 200,000 people.

It was in the face of such frightening statistics that the STV Appeal was launched.

Every time one of our customers order one of our 35 day dry-aged signature steaks – chateaubriand, cote de boeuf or t-bone we will donate £1 from every cut, £5 from every one of our 45 day dry-aged TOMAWHAWK steaks sold (only four of these cuts per rib y’know) and £1 from every Hugo cocktail.

Travel restrictions are now in play across the city and we would just like to let our customers know that we are open for steak as usual and will be operating normal hours, opening daily from 12 noon.
Part of Sauchiehall Street is partially closed for vehicles due to the Kelvingrove Lawn Bowls events directly across the road but you can still easily access The Butchershop via a taxi or car from the top of Radnor Street or Clayslaps Street on Argyle Street.
In celebration of The Games we are running a special Commonwealth lunch menu available from Monday – Saturday between 12 and 5pm which you can view here. We do hope that you join us over the next two weeks of the exciting Games, and if you’re planning to enjoy the Culture and Festival 2014 celebrations at the Kelvingrove Band Stand and Park we’d love to have you at The Butchershop.

Celebrate graduation with your family and friends at The Butchershop Bar & Grill with our £30pp three course menu. Our graduation menu is available from now until late summer to help celebrate the class of 2014. Maple braised short rib, soft shell crab, sea bream and our smoking steaks all feature alongside a glass of Prosecco to toast your graduate!
We have also pulled together a list of our favourite wines to accompany our dishes to make your day extra special.
If you’re looking for a very easy-drinking dry white, with flavours that go perfectly with seafood, in particular our beet salad, soft shell crab or our wild leek cannelloni then we would recommend the French Mas Puech, Picpoul de Pinet. Or for something a little more special try one of our exclusive wines to the Butchershop – the Chablis 1er Cru from the legendary wine producer, Bernard Legland which is a classic and complex wine that leaves a long lingering palate.
Steak is perfectly paired with a glass of Malbec, especially an Argentinian one. The best producers of Malbec have to be the Catena winery, with this family creating wines that are unforgettable. Our favourite is the Catena Alta Malbec which is a must with a ribeye.
We’re big advocates of dessert wine and adore the luxurious and silky Royal Tokaji, which is one of the most renowned dessert wines in the world. Great with our sticky toffee pudding or even on its own. For a lighter wine try the Tokaji Late Harvest which is available by the glass and makes a great accompaniment for any of our desserts.
