It might have been a very dull summer but autumn and winter are shaping up to be pretty spectacular (and a very busy few months) at the Butchershop. We have lots in the pipeline, so here’s a teaser of what’s to come in the very near future. More details will be posted soon but in the mean time here’s what we have planned:
September Tuesday, 4 September: STV Appeal
We were on Capital FM last night as part of an auction prize with STV’s favourite weatherman Sean Batty. We donated a stellar meal for two which includes a chateaubriand for two and a bottle of Angus the Bull wine. Thanks to everyone who bidded and is raising money towards Scottish children in poverty.
Thursday, 13 Sept: Blaze Fire Walk
You’d think that our kitchen would be hot enough but James and Louise Rusk have volunteered to walk over hot coals to raise valuable funds to help improve the learning and teaching in Malawi. They’ll be doing this on Thursday 13th Sept 2012 for Malawi Leaders of Learning in George Square. Watch this space for pictures and possibly burnt feet… !
Thursday, October 18: Simonsig Wine Pairing Evening with Johan Malan
We have the absolute pleasure of hosting a four course dinner with winemaker Johan Malan of Simonsig, who upholds the 55-year Malan family winemaking legacy. The impressive lineage of their award-winning wines will be explained by Johan himself. His wines will be paired will four complementing courses. You can read about Johan here

The festive season is officially in full swing and our festive Christmas menu has proved a huge hit over lunch and dinner!
If you haven’t already made it down to sample the delights on offer which include crispy Ayrshire pork belly on black pudding and roasted Shetland salmon with bubble and squeak potatoes, caramelised shallots and parsnips with a red wine jus, don’t despair, there’s still plenty of time! Our Christmas menu is available until the end of December, so don’t miss the chance to dazzle your colleagues, or family and friends’ taste buds with festive cheer.
